Love Island Season 2 September 17th Recap and Thoughts

Four Islanders see their journeys end and three new arrivals aim to turn the villa upside down.

Let’s start with the vote because we finally saw our dream of a Mackenzieless villa come to fruition. I’m excited to see how the vibe in the villa changes with her gone. She was so overwhelmingly narcissistic that it became painful to watch her on a daily basis. I was not a fan of her trying to reel Connor back in on the way out the door and I really hope her last ditch effort wasn’t enough to lure him back in.

Besides Mackenzie we say goodbye to Jalen, Sher, & Aaron. Really these three never stood a chance. It honestly felt a bit unfair seeing them get ejected from the island before getting a chance to at least have a new wave of islanders swoop in. Out of the three I think Jalen is the only one who had any impact whatsoever on the island, being part of the reason Mackenzie and Connor broke up. Outside of that Aaron and Sher were two fairly bland islanders that could have been replaced by cardboard cut outs.

Lastly we had three new boys arrive in the villa to turn things upside down. Noah, Bennie and Bennett arrived and got to go on dates with Moira, Cely and Kierstan. Bennett and Kierstan really hit it off and I’m fully expecting them to be a new couple. Moira seems to be on the fence about both Noah and Connor. And then somehow Bennie is finding a little crack to sneak into Cely’s life. Johnny did not react well to the new guys coming in and I think it’s already hurting his relationship with Cely.

That’s it for tonight, I’ll be back tomorrow for the next episode!

Big Brother Season 22 September 17th Recap and Thoughts [Eviction & HOH]

Tyler and Ian sit on the block and one of them is about to be headed home. Will The Committee continue to run the season?

Well the short answer is yes, The Committee did continue to control the season tonight. Nicole did go very hard to convince her alliance to go against Tyler and send him to jury but they were having nothing to do with it. I think this is really going to hurt Nicole’s game very much and her actions have placed her at the bottom of The Committee totem pole. Maybe we get back tot back winners sent to the jury house.

We didn’t get to see who won the HOH but I was shocked that Dani elected to not use her BB Basement power. I don’t see how not using it benefits Dani in any way shape or form. No one is going to come after her for using it and being able to potentially influence who wins HOH (or win it herself).

We’ll find out Sunday who won the HOH, see who they nominate and get a new twist with a BB legend moving into the neighborhood to influence the game. I’m predicting Dr. Will showing up to shake things up a bit.

Married At First Sight Season 11 Episode 10 Recap and Thoughts

First off I apologize for the audio. Seems like I was picking up sound from two different microphones. I really wanted to try and do it live but seems like I’ve got a few more kinks to work out!

Overall I’d say this was a good week for our couples. A few issues for some of our couples but I’d say the majority of the couples took steps forwards tonight.

It was interesting to get our first reminder that this was being filmed right around the beginning of corona virus. I remember when all the stores were sold out of hand sanitizer and toilet paper. It’s going to be very interesting watching our couples navigate things as the world changes around them.

Might as well jump into our first couple for the week, Christina and Henry. I’d call this a good week for them even if they had a bit of a fight after Henry over shared with Amani. It’s good to finally see this couple getting closer together because they’ve felt like strangers for most of the season. I still don’t know if they have enough time to get enough out of each other to make a decision but I’m still keeping a bit of hope open.

Last week ended real bad for Miles and Karen. I wasn’t sure if they’d be able to recover after their talk about intimacy spiraled to a really bad place. I think it was very good of Karen to essentially recommit to Miles and forgive his behavior. Miles seemed genuinely ashamed of what he had done and I think Karen needed to see that before being able to move forward. We saw a lot more affection from Karen today and it really felt like she was in the relationship tonight. The full body massage seemed right up Miles’ alley and I think that really helped the couple. The relationship can’t just be about what Miles and do for Karen but what they can do for each other.

Next up we have Amani and Woody. Not much to report here, they are still doing great. The only thing really looming over the couple right now is Woody saying he was in love with Amani. I think they’ve handled it well so far but there is now pressure on Amani to get to the same place that Woody is. I think it’s important for Amani to feel things at her own pace and not feel forced into saying I love you before she is ready.

Amelia and Bennett are still amazing. Today it was Bennett’s turn to do something nice for Amelia so he cooked her dinner and invited over some singers to sing for her, it was super cute. At the end of the episode Bennett did express concerns that he’s worried about Amelia being a bit too love blind right now and that it his experience that can be a negative in the long term for a relationship. I can’t see this road bump hinder the relationship too much and I’m still fully sold on this couple.

Lastly we have Olivia and Brett. I just can’t stand that dude. It’s becoming more apparent just how narcissistic he is. As soon as something isn’t about him or on his terms he just checks out. What a pathetic display he put on at trivia. He sounded like a 5 year old child complaining about not getting to play with his favorite toy. I’m so over Brett and I really hope that Olivia gets out of this relationship and finds a real husband.

That’s it for this week. I feel terrible about the audio quality on the live stream, I will work to get everything fixed ASAP.

Love Island Season 2 September 15th Recap and Thoughts

We’ve got another recoupling but no one will be headed home tonight. New couples on the horizon and a vote looming to determine the least compatible couple.

The recoupling was pretty interesting tonight even though no one is heading home. We’ve got three solid couples and four brand new couples so things in the villa are still pretty fluid. On top of that we will be seeing at least one person exit the villa on Thursday.

So the three solid couples Laurel & Carrington, Johnny & Cely, and Justine & Caleb. Not much to report on these couples and at this point I’d be surprised if we see them break up before the end of the season. It feels like this show has been going on for like a month now when really I don’t even know if we are halfway done the season. As a Love island virgin, I’m really curious about what happens when the majority of the house is in committed relationships. We could be headed in that direction in the next week or so.

Alright time to talk about new couples. Connor didn’t pick Mackenzie! Instead he went with Moira and I’m pretty happy with this couple. They are going to be painfully boring in the villa but as long as Connor isn’t thinking about Mackenzie, i’m a happy man. Next let’s jump to Kierstan and Calvin, I didn’t see this one coming at all but both seem pretty happy about it. Calvin sprinted away from Sher after she pulled out on the kiss yesterday and quickly looked for a new partner. I’m still on the fence about this couple but think there is at least a sliver of hope here. Next we have Jalen and Sher, I like Jalen but let’s be real Sher is turning her head for anyone who walks through the villa door. Last we’ve got Mackenzie and Aaron, I don’t care about this couple and am looking forward to seeing them in the bottom of the vote on Thursday.

Speaking of the vote, I am totally on team Justine and Caleb. I’m hoping they get the most votes on Thursday. I’m feeling like the bottom two couples are going to be Jalen & Sher and Aaron & Mackenzie. I don’t know how things will go down with the vote but I’m really hoping we can finally get rid of Mackenzie.

Big Brother Season 22 September 15th Recap and Thoughts [Veto]

The first BB Basement powers is used and a veto comes into play. Pretty interesting night of Big Brother.

We all knew it was coming but David using the Disruptor power shakes up Dani’s game a bit. Dani decides to name Tyler as the replacement nominee. We know that Dani and Tyler have been at odds but her putting him on the block lets her alliance know that she is the first person to make a move against the alliance. It doesn’t matter that Tyler offered himself as a pawn because Dani is going around behind his back telling her alliance members that she is going after him. Well bad news for Dani because most of them don’t want him out of the house.

Next up we’ve got the veto. Alongside Kevin, Tyler and Dani, we see Da’Vonne, Enzo and Ian get their names pulled. After painstakingly stacking 15 microbrews, Da’Vonne pulls out the first win of her BB career. Da’Vonne has been working with Dani so obviously she won’t use the veto right? Wrong, Da’Vonne pulls down Kevin forcing Dani to name her fourth nominee. Dani calls Ian’s name and it looks like he’s about to be the first member of the jury.

Another week and it looks like another non-committee member is headed home.
